Post 6: A subject you´ve enjoyed studying this semester.

One of my favorite subjects this semester has been Cognitive Neuroscience.

During the synchronous classes one of the teachers explains the respective contents while we take notes and then at the end of the class to clarify any doubts that may have arisen. There are asynchronous instances where you can review content that has been more difficult to understand and request tutorials with the teacher and the assistants, which are very useful. The evaluations consist of seminars where the most important contents of each unit are addressed, turning out to be very didactic and integrative where concept maps must be made, associating images with concepts and relating the classes with documentaries and/or specific films, among many others.

Among the main contents of the subject are: Neuroanatomy, Study Techniques in Neurosciences, Physiological Mechanism of Emotions and Language and Executive Functions of the brain.

I like this subject mainly because it seeks to understand the causes of altered behavior from a more medical model, linking the actions of the human being with the functioning of their nervous system. This is important both in the prevention and treatment of mental disorders.

  Hello everyone, in this post I want to talk about the reason I chose my career, and later my dream job. When I was a child I loved the video games, because I considered they were art; for that reason my dream job was to be a videogame designer. But in those times this career was not profitable. Other career options were medical technology and nursing, but I turned them down because I hate chemistry. In the end I chose psychology because I like to help people with their psychological and emotional problems. My experience in the university so far has been quiet, because I don’t like big parties or meetings very much; I have few but good friends there. Post 4: A Photography you like

  I took this photography around five years ago   when my new guinea pigs arrived at my house, they had only one month to live; the picture shows the female on the left and the male on the right. I called the female Artemis and the male Atlas, because at that time I was a fan of Greek culture and I don´t have much imagination to name my pets. That day my brother gave them to me when he found me very depressed because a breakup I had with my girlfriend, so it was a therapy for me. During that period they were both the size of my hand and everything scared them, even the food I gave them, but in just one year they were the size of an adult guinea pig. I love my pets and this photo, because they have accompanied me at all times: Christmas, birthdays, study nights and in most of the sad and happy moments.
